first_imgNewsBreaking newsVictim critical following bludgeoned attackBy Staff Reporter – November 21, 2014 739 Print Facebook WhatsApp Twitter Linkedincenter_img Andrew [email protected] up for the weekly Limerick Post newsletter Sign Up A LIMERICK man is recovering in hospital following a brutal attack in the county last Wednesday.The 26-year-old victim was set upon by a number of men at 11pm on Wednesday night last in Ashe Crescent, Gortboy in Newcastle West and suffered a number of injuries.It is believed that the brutal attack was carried out with a blunt weapon, before the assailants left the area in a red coloured car.The injured man was taken to University Hospital Limerick after the alarm was raised by locals and there he remains in the Intensive Care Unit where his condition is said to be criticalGardai have been unable to interview him yet and officers have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.“We are anxious to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact us at at Newcastle West Garda Station on (069) 20650,” said Superintendnet Tom O’Connor.“We believe the culprits may have left the area in a red coloured car.”Detectives are still working to establish a motive for the attack. Warnock, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, will be the keynote speaker at the closing luncheon for the 11th annual Leadership Conference Celebrating African-American History Month at noon Saturday in the Trojan Center Ballroom on the campus of Troy University.Warnock has served as pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church since 2005.“Ebenezer Baptist Church is known worldwide as the spiritual home of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said Shelia Jackson, Conference public relations chair. Warnock served as youth pastor at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham, as associate pastor at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, and as senior pastor at Douglas Memorial Community Church in Baltimore. Milan Basketball Time Change

first_imgThe Milan Boys Basketball game time on Friday the 24th has changed a bit due to travel issues.  We will start the JV Game at 6:30 instead of 6:00 and then the varsity will follow.We will introduce the senior swimmers at half time of the JV game and then have senior introductions for Band, Cheer and Boys basketball in-between games.  The Elem Show choir will sing the National Anthem before the start of the varsity game and the Tribettes will perform a 10 min show at the varsity half.Courtesy of Milan AD Jon Prifogle.last_img read more
